Volunteers from the Scientology Community Centre Dublin brought drug-prevention education to the Clondalkin Festival in Ireland, sharing factual information with families, young people and local residents in a busy community setting.
The activity, described by organisers as a day of meaningful conversations, placed the subject of drugs in a constructive and accessible context. Volunteers distributed educational booklets, answered questions and spoke with eu news now visitors about prevention, resilience and informed choices.
Through the Truth About Drugs materials, the volunteers presented prevention as a matter of education and community care, making information available before problems become more serious.
For the Church of Scientology, drug-prevention education is one of several humanitarian initiatives inspired by L. Ron Hubbard and carried out by churches, missions and volunteers in communities across Europe.
According to Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, community-based prevention is closely linked to European values of responsibility and human dignity. “Families and young people benefit when information is made accessible before harm occurs,” he said.
